"GPS feels weirdly hit or miss"
I got Troomi mainly for the GPS tracking, and it’s been inconsistent for us. Sometimes it’ll show my kid still sitting at a place they left 20 minutes ago, or it just refuses to refresh like the app knows I’m trying to check and is purposely messing with me.
The phone itself is fine enough, but the tracking was the whole reason we bought it. It’s frustrating when you actually need to know where your kid is and the GPS is acting like it’s part of some tiny cover-up.

"Managing the app is easy"
It’s been working well for us so far. The app management is simple, and any confusion we had at the start felt avoidable once we got used to where everything was.

The phone itself works fine and I haven’t had any real issues with it. Calls are clear, apps run smoothly, and even little things like the screen brightness and battery life have been solid. My only complaint is the monthly cost feels a bit high for what I’m getting.

"Setup was such a headache"
I was just trying to get my kid’s phone activated, and it ended up being way more frustrating than I expected. The instructions didn’t really match what I was seeing on my end, so I kept second-guessing everything. When I reached out to support, it took a while to get help, and it kind of felt like they were blaming me for not doing it right instead of just helping me fix it. Not the best first experience with Troomi.

I had to reach out to Troomi support while setting up the phone, and they were helpful. It did take a little longer than I was hoping to hear back, so that part was a bit frustrating. But once they replied, they explained everything clearly, like actually clearly, and I was able to follow the steps without getting confused. Everything got fixed and the phone is working fine now. I’m giving 4 stars because of the wait, but overall it was a good experience.

Overall, my experience with Troomi has been good. The billing was straightforward, and when I looked it over, there wasn’t anything that made me pause or wonder what I was being charged for. That alone goes a long way. I’m giving it 4 stars because the details about changing plans could be a little easier to track down, but otherwise it’s been a solid experience.

"Parental controls are decent, but could be better"
I tried using the parental controls and they’re okay overall, but I ran into a few frustrating things. Some of the settings didn’t always seem to save, and figuring out the app blocking wasn’t as straightforward as I expected. Support did get back to me, but it took a while. I’m wondering if other parents have had the same experience or found a smoother way to set it up.

"Pretty tough kid phone, but the case isn’t perfect"
We got a troomi phone for my son about 6 months ago, and it’s been through the usual kid stuff because kids drop everything and backpacks basically destroy all things. It’s been dropped on the driveway, tossed around, shoved into bags, and somehow it still works totally fine.
The screen has a couple tiny scratches, but no cracks, which actually surprised me because every phone screen seems like it’s always one bad drop away from disaster. The only thing I’ve noticed is the battery door or edge of the case feels a little loose now, so it’s not perfect.
Overall, I’m happy with it and how well it’s held up. For a kid phone, it seems tough, and basically anything that survives daily kid use for this long is doing better than most stuff in our house...

"Calls and Texts Are Basically a Guessing Game"
I’d love to say my calls and texts work reliably, but that would be generous. Calls drop all the time, and texts show up late way more often than they should. Super convenient if you enjoy missing conversations for no reason

"Phone feels way too slow"
I was really hoping this phone would be easier to use, but it’s been frustrating. Apps freeze all the time, the battery runs down faster than I expected, and even basic things like opening messages or switching between apps feel laggy. I also wish the setup and instructions were clearer, because I kept feeling like I had to figure things out on my own. Overall, it just hasn’t been a smooth experience.

"I got this for my kid..."
I got this for my kid, and the weird part is it works totally fine when we’re in town, but at home it’s a different story. The signal is bad around our area, so calls drop a lot and texts sometimes show up late. I really wanted it to be reliable, especially for keeping in touch, but at home it just hasn’t been consistent enough.
